The large deck area and windows along the front of the house are shaded in summer by deciduous Japanese maple trees. When the leaves have fallen, the winter sun warms the living and bedroom areas while providing a sheltered, sunny outside area.
The cottage has a separate kitchen with ample cupboard space, gas cook top and refrigerator.
There is a separate laundry, with a linen press and dryer included, accessed from the covered back veranda.
